A Visit To The RAF Museum At Cosford
After leaving Northampton on 19th June 2011 I was heading for Wales to stay overnight with an old RAF colleague from my RAF Medmenham (Signals Command) days.
En-route I spotted the sign for the RAF Museum at Cosford and decided to stop and have a browse. What a splendid collection of aircraft and other RAF memorabilia
are housed there. If you have not yet had the opportunity to visit then I can highly recommend one. The first aircraft I spotted adjacent to the car parking area and
looking as if it had just landed, was a beautiful old Britannia transport (the Whispering Giant). I remember this aircraft well having returned to RAF Stanstead (as was)
from Singapore in one of these in 1962. Other exhibits of particular interest were the Boy Entrant Display and the computer bay of the TSR2. The guide told us (not
unsrprisingly to me anyway, that modern day mobile phones have more computing power than the whole of the equipment installed in the TSR2.  I spent most of the
afternoon in the museum and I hope you enjoy this series of photos that I took that day.
